Saint Paschal Baylon, born as Pascual Baylón Yubero
in Torrehermosa (Aragon) on May 16, 1540, and died in Villarreal
(Valencia) on May 17, 1592, was a Franciscan friar whose life was
deeply marked by humility, simplicity, and an extraordinary
devotion to the Eucharist.
Venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church, he is especially recognized
as patron of eucharistic works, associations, and congresses,
becoming one of the great figures of eucharistic spirituality
in the Church.
Since 1898, Saint Paschal Baylon has been the patron of our parish
of El Perelló, where his figure holds a very special place in the spiritual
life and devotion of our community.
Our parish also maintains the hope that the Church will officially recognize
his co-patronage of El Perelló, together with
the Immaculate Conception, Patroness of our municipality, thus reflecting
the deep historical and devotional bond of our town with
Saint Paschal Baylon.
