Welcome

Welcome to the Parish of San Pascual Bailón in El Perelló, a Christian community that lives its faith through the Eucharist, charity, and love for Mary.

Welcome to our Parish

Our desire is to continue working for the cause of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as this Parish has been doing since its founding, more than seventy years ago.

Throughout all this time, our Diocese of Valencia has watched over so that the flame of that first motivation continues to burn in this portion of the Church.

Over the years, through catechesis, liturgy, and pastoral charity, this beautiful parish community has been built.

Special and grateful mention is due to the priests who have exercised their ministry here over these years: Fr. Alfredo Alcaraz Mengual, Fr. Carlos Vidal Bessó, and Fr. Javier Puchol Marco, all three of happy memory; as well as Fr. José Jaime Brosel, Fr. José Francisco Castelló Colomer, and Fr. Jesús Soler Sansabas.

To all of them, we deeply thank them for the commendable pastoral work carried out in the service of our community.

Walking Together as Church

We walk together as a community, as a parish, and as Church. We work united for the Kingdom of God, so that all may experience Jesus passing through their lives.

The Church and our Parish need men and women convinced and committed to the Gospel of Jesus. Every person, whatever their condition, who lives in our Parish needs all of us to be able to draw near to the love of God.

Therefore, we know ourselves to be cooperators and co-responsible for the evangelizing mission of our Parish.

Following in the Footsteps of Saint Paschal Baylon

Our Parish has as its Patron one of the great saints of Spanish and Valencian Franciscanism: Saint Paschal Baylon.

We want to make our own the attitudes of Saint Paschal himself. We are called to be little shepherds in the style of the saint: close, attentive, fraternal, and concerned for others; capable of accompanying and guiding those whom God places on our path.

Humility was one of the great virtues of our Patron. With the help of all, we want to learn to listen to one another, to discern communally, and always to project our action from the Spirit.

Joy is also a characteristic proper to the friar Saint Paschal. Therefore, our commitment to evangelize and revitalize the Parish wants to be imbued with the joy that comes from the Gospel, so that even in moments of greatest difficulty we can face them with the joy of knowing ourselves to be brothers and sisters.

The Eucharist, the Poor, and Our Lady

As your pastor, I invite you to focus your attention on three fundamental aspects that accompanied Saint Paschal on his path to holiness: the Eucharist, the poor, and being a “friend” of Our Lady.

A Community that Lives from the Eucharist

This is the dream of our Parish of El Perelló: to be a Eucharistic community, living from the Eucharist and for the Eucharist.

We want to be a place of constant prayer and adoration before Jesus in the Eucharist; a community capable of being moved by the presence of the Blessed Sacrament and of then carrying that Eucharistic experience to every area of our daily life.

Whatever we do will always be little compared to all that Jesus gives us.

A Parish Close to the Poorest

We desire that the poorest who come to our door be welcomed with the greatest fraternity.

Our charitable action, represented especially in Parish Caritas, wants to be a space where those who need it most can find consolation, accompaniment, and the necessary help.

We want all who come to us to always find a gaze of mercy, fraternity, and hope.

Friends of Our Lady

Saint Paschal called himself “friend of Our Lady”. Therefore, alongside Jesus we always find the maternal embrace of Mary: the Virgin Most Pure and the Virgin of Carmen, help of so many sailors and Mother of so many men, women, and children who are part of this great family.

Feel at Home

Dear visitor to our parish website, feel at home, with your brothers and sisters, with your family.

May the Lord give you peace.
